Your domain name is your brand's permanent address on the internet. While NexStorez provides a free subdomain to get you started instantly, connecting your own custom domain (like yourbrand.com) is the ultimate step to building customer trust and scaling your business.
The Transition
From Trial to Premium Branding
When you start your 7-day free trial, we ask for a store name. If it is available, we instantly generate a secure, ready-to-use subdomain for you (e.g., myshop.nexstorez.com). This allows you to build your catalog, test the checkout, and experience the platform without spending a dime on domain registration.
Premium Feature Unlocked
Custom domain mapping is a premium feature. Once your trial ends and you upgrade to a paid plan, the Domain Settings dashboard unlocks. From there, you can drop the ".nexstorez" extension and connect a domain you bought from providers like Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Hostinger.

Configuring DNS Records
The crucial connection step
We know DNS settings can look intimidating, but it is actually just a simple copy-paste job. To point your domain to our high-speed Vercel servers, you need to log into your domain registrar's dashboard (where you bought the domain) and update two specific records.

Using Cloudflare? Watch out for the Proxy!
If you manage your DNS through Cloudflare, adding the records is not enough. You must click the orange cloud icon next to both records to turn the "Proxy status" to DNS Only. If the proxy is left on, Vercel cannot verify your domain and the connection will fail.

Once you have saved the DNS records at your registrar, return to the NexStorez dashboard. Enter your domain (e.g., yourbrand.com) into the input field. The system is smart enough to automatically strip out any accidental https:// or trailing slashes you might paste. Click Verify Domain.
Free SSL Certificates
You never have to buy or manually install an SSL certificate. As soon as the Vercel servers detect your DNS routing, NexStorez automatically provisions and attaches a bank-grade SSL certificate to your custom domain. Your site instantly gets the secure padlock icon.
Troubleshooting & Propagation
Patience is key during DNS changes
If you hit "Verify" and the dashboard shows a yellow "Pending" status, don't panic!
The 24-Hour Rule
DNS changes are not always instantaneous. It can take anywhere from 1 to 24 hours for the new routing information to propagate across all internet servers globally. Your site might be intermittent during this window. This is completely normal internet behavior, not a bug.
Disconnecting a Domain
If you ever rebrand or make a typo during setup, you can safely remove the domain. Click the red Disconnect button. This takes the custom domain offline and safely reverts your store back to the original `.nexstorez.com` routing without losing any product data.
